Note:
Please make sure that you read all the following as it pertains
to both youth and adults.
CATHOLIC
VENDORS: Catholic
Vendors (rally speakers, local Catholic store “McCarthy’s
Emporium”
- music, books, t-shirts and other youth related items, and other
artists) will be on display throughout the weekend.
Please remind your teens to bring money if they so desire.
NO
CELL PHONES: Cell
phones are disruptive and disrespectful when one is on retreat. Cell
Phones found in possession of a teen will be confiscated until after the
rally. Adults may have them, but we ask that they not be on during
Mass, Adoration, or any of the discussions. Teens who need to call
their parents can speak to your group leader. This rule also covers
any form of text messaging.
NO
CD OR MP3 PLAYERS OR I-PODS:
These will be confiscated until after the rally.
FACULTIES
& GROUNDS: We
are all guests of Archbishop
Walsh High School and therefore must respect all school and student property.
If anyone, participant or team member, is found in violation of
this rule, they will be immediately expelled from the rally and
possible criminal charges will occur.
LOCK
DOWN: Please be
aware that the school will be in lock-down mode from 10:00 AM Saturday Morning until 1:00 PM Sunday for safety and security
precautions.
MASS: The Rally
Weekend will begin and end with
Mass.
Youth are expected to remain
respectful and remain in the gym at all times. No one will be
permitted to leave until the rally is officially over unless in the case
of an emergency.
MEALS: No food
will be allowed in the gym or sleeping areas at anytime.
Any special dietary needs must be explained at registration. Meals
include: Saturday - Snacks, Lunch, Dinner/Late-Night Feed Fest and Sunday:
Brunch and Snacks.
PARTICIPATION: It
is expected that all rally participants, youth and adults, will be present
at scheduled sessions. No
youth will be allowed in the sleeping areas during the session times
unless accompanied by an adult from their group.
No youth will be permitted to leave the school at any time.
An atmosphere of quiet and respect is expected following
“LIGHTS OUT”. Anyone found
violating these will be subject to appropriate discipline.
RECONCILIATION:
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered Saturday Night around
10:30 PM
. If a youth or an adult
wishes to make this sacrament at any other time, he or she will have to
ask a priest.
RESPECTFUL
ATTIRE: (THIS IS A
MAJOR ONE)! All
Rally participants are expected to dress in a fashion that represents
modesty and good taste. Clothing
must cover all undergarments and mid-drifts.
Low cut tops, mini-skirts, short shorts or any other inappropriate
attire are not to be worn at any time during the conference.
Clothing with vulgar language or obscene pictures is not also
appropriate. Participants will be
asked to change into other appropriate clothing if such clothing is
apparent. Teens found in continual violation of this rule will be subject to appropriate discipline.
SAFETY: For your own safety, no one is allowed to
leave the building for any purpose. All
visitors and/or rally adults will be required to sign in when they arrive.
Throughout the retreat, there will be many adult chaperones to help
with crowd control and safety. If
they are any questions please find an adult.
In the evening there will be a security detail in the sleeping
areas and the main lobby. There
will be also an on-site nurse, medical professional or EMT on duty at all
times through out the weekend. If
an emergency does occur, parents will be notified as soon as possible.
Olean General
Hospital
is about 5 minutes from
Walsh
High School. If discipline action does
arise, parents of the person will be notified immediately and the
appropriate action will take place.
SHOWERS: There are no showers available at the conference.
SUBSTANCES: It
is the policy of the Rally and of
Archbishop
Walsh High School
that no smoking will be allowed.
There is no tobacco, alcohol, nicotine, or any controlled or
illegal substances allowed on the premises. Violation of this rule will be immediate dismissal, notification of
parents, and possible criminal prosecution.
WATER BOTTLES: Participants
are advised to bring water bottles for the weekend. There will be water
stations located throughout the facility.
WRISTBANDS AND ID INFORMATION: Teens are to wear their
wristbands and ID Tags throughout the entire weekend.
